On why they came to Gallagher & Lindsey:

Angela McIntyre began her career in real estate in 2002, after many years as a Human Resources Professional in the high tech world. Her husband, since deceased, had started a new career with Gallagher & Lindsey in 1999, and encouraged her to do the same.

“There was no question about where I would go once I got my license. My husband had really flourished at Gallagher & Lindsey, and after 44 years of marriage we wondered if we would be able to work together. I’ve gotten so much support – the people here loved my husband, and [after he died] they continued to support me. There’s a feeling of family here.”

Jack Cooley came to Gallagher & Lindsey in 1974, after providing services to Don Lindsey and Jack Gallagher through the landscaping business he owned then. He started out part-time, and liked it so much that he sold his business and has been quite happy these last 32 years.

“I had two boys who were active in sports. With the flexible schedule here, I could make the time to coach them. Over a 20-year period I never missed one of their games, and I never lost a client over it. The company was very supportive. They respected my desire to be a good father as well as a good agent.”

Samantha “Sam” McDowell began her long career in real estate selling recreational land in 1972, and then went into general real estate in the Montclair District of Oakland. When she moved her residence to Alameda, she fell in love with its quaint atmosphere and historic homes. She soon noticed that Gallagher & Lindsey stood out as a leading real estate company which had the recognition and respect of island residents. She moved to Gallagher & Lindsey in 2005.

“It was not a difficult decision to become an associate of Gallagher & Lindsey because their values and service to clients and to the community are the same as mine.”

Pacita Dimacali attended Gallagher & Lindsey’s free classes for prospective agents in November 2002, and joined the company when she got her license in early 2003. She had always had an interest in real estate, but had doubts about leaving her comfortable corporate life.

“When I called to find out about the free classes they were offering, I was encouraged to learn that I could come to the classes even though I was still studying the required real estate principles course. The fact that I could learn about other things – like how to read a preliminary report, write a contract, understand the escrow process, what to disclose, etc. – was such a tremendous foundation. From the time I got my license, I could literally hit the ground running, and I was well-prepared and well-equipped to do so.”

On Gallagher & Lindsey’s investment in high technology, training & support:

“I was used to having the latest tools in my career in high tech, so I was very happy to find that Gallagher & Lindsey invests in technology. We can do much of our paperwork through either the web or e-mail: contracts, disclosures, offers, counter-offers, etc. It’s fast and efficient, and it saves time and wear and tear. I’m so glad to work with people who have the foresight to support our work with electronic tools. They invest in the staff, too – there is regular staff education, technical training, and lead generation and relationship building tools.” Angela McIntyre

“Gallagher & Lindsey is on the cutting edge with providing computer support and resources. We don’t wait to see how others do it, we jump right in. There’s lots of training. They taught me how to invest [in real estate] myself so I don’t really have to work anymore.” Jack Cooley

“They saw the need for change including technical equipment and additional office personnel, and also expanded our reach outside of Alameda to the surrounding areas.” Sam McDowell

“I was thrilled when Gallagher & Lindsey offered us 100 Days to Greatness by Buffini & Company. I felt that I finally and truly belonged when some of us adopted a common resolve and philosophy of how to take care of our clients. It seemed to me a kinder, gentler way to do business. Knowing that G & L fully subscribes to this mindset made me settle in even deeper among people who have the same beliefs.” Pacita Dimacali

On the people of Gallagher & Lindsey:

“When I come in to work in the morning I have the feeling that everyone I see I like. We help each other.” Angela McIntyre

“It’s kinda like a family. We have fun, it’s not rigid, and everybody works together. It’s a good fit for me.” Jack Coole

On Gallagher & Lindsey’s community involvement:

“Gallagher & Lindsey always enhances the holidays for the children in the community. We have the Easter bunny, a Halloween event, and Santa Claus. Agents volunteer for community events like the Park Street Art and Wine fair, and the Peanut Butter Jam on Webster. My husband used to drive for Meals on Wheels, and now the company contributes.” Angela McIntyre

“Gallagher & Lindsey is very community minded.” Sam McDowell

“G & L has always been active in the community, but I think we bring new and creative things that endear us to the folks whose lives we touch in some way. Witness the fun and happiness of the kids (and their parents) when they can come to see Santa or the Easter Bunny….or when they play together during our Halloween party. Even the little things we do like delivering meals during the holidays are noticed.” Pacita Dimacali

On what keeps them here:

“I came because of my husband, but I have remained here because of the people, the support, the management, and the tools. It’s a great, great, great career for me. I love it. I’ve been very successful, too.” Angela McIntyre

“I don’t have to work, but I continue to work full-time because I like it. Working here gave me the flexibility to coach my two boys when they were in school, and to travel. I just got back from a few weeks in Central America; it was my 17th cruise.” Jack Cooley

“First and foremost I feel loyalty to the company which gave me my first chance. And secondly, the ever-growing ties of friendship that were strong when I started, and getting stronger. I think that I have truly found my “bliss.” Although I work very hard, I am amply rewarded by the new friends I make, by what I can now do (like invest in additional real estate property), and by the enjoyment I derive when I help my clients find what they want and need. I think people can sense that I truly enjoy being a realtor. Pacita Dimacali

“I will continue being an associate of Gallagher & Lindsey Realtors because their values and service to clients and to the community are the same as mine.” Sam McDowell
